NSW School Catchment Finder

In NSW, every child is entitled to enrol at their designated local public school under the Education Act 1990 and the Department of Education’s enrolment policy. Unlike a single “zone”, each address sits in two catchments — one for a local primary school (Kindergarten–Year 6) and one for a local high school (Years 7–12) — with intake areas set by the Department. Schools must keep enough places for local students, but may accept out-of-area (non-local) enrolments when spaces allow. Catchment boundaries are reviewed and can change from year to year, and some schools — selective high schools, schools for specific purposes and distance-education schools — enrol by other criteria and have no residential catchment.
